ST. PHOEBE DAY GATHERING – Honoring the Work of Women in the Church!
Do you know St. Phoebe? On September 14, our local Catholic faith community will celebrate St. Phoebe at St. Monica Catholic Church with a Mass at 9am and a time of witness, discussion and refreshments, 10am to Noon. We join hundreds across the U.S. and beyond in celebrating St. Phoebe during the month of September as church leaders prepare to gather in Rome in October for the culminating gathering of the current Synod on Synodality. Among the themes considered will be how the Church might offer “fuller recognition to the charisms, vocation and role of women.” In celebrating as a faith community, we join in prayer for the Global Synod, deepen our devotion to an inspiring but little-known saint, and honor the gifts and work of women lay ministers and leaders in our local church community. Let us follow in the footsteps of St. Phoebe as we seek to journey with our global Church in synod!
Registration encouraged: please email carleymk@gmail.com by Sept. 12. Event is free.
